Bon Voyage

I'm in love with everything Grace Bol, from figure to face, she is definitely one of my favourite models. I was so happy to find her sporting pastels and funky prints in Bon Voyage for W Magazine! Even the backdrops and props were vibrant and fun (very artsy fartsy), I love it! I'm not quite sure what makes me more excited though... the fact that Grace Bol is sporting these ensembles or the fact that I could see Solange killing the game in every single one of them. Nevertheless, Grace Bol modeling in, "Bon Voyage" *audience claps and stage lights go off*

Prom? I'm Good

If I've learned anything about myself since moving here, it is that I am not much of a party person. I'm not big on minuscule events like homecoming and Sadies Hawkins. Obviously, prom is another story, but even so... I'm not keen on attending that either. This is my junior year in high school, and I've already set my mind on skipping this year's and attending the one next year (BECAUSE SENIOR).

I'm not going: 1. Because I don't see myself having a date, 2. I don't see myself saying yes to any guy I know, 3. Because the last couple of proms have been lame, and that is a lot of money to be wasting on washed out songs and glamorous dresses. This does not mean I don't indulge in hopeless dreaming of the perfect prom dress. I personally am not fond of the typical shape and cuts people have been sporting over the years... I prefer something more along the lines of Valentino. Below are some photos of Valentino dresses I would HAPPILY sport for prom next year!

Wild Wonder

It seems as though every time I make a post it starts off with an apology for being so neglectful towards the blog, but this will not be one of those posts. This time we're just going to grab the bull by it's horns! (I think that's how the term goes)

For starters my love, Solange Knowles, recently had an unadorned wedding in an unforgettable fashion (literally); from the guest list to her white jumpsuit, I was smitten. I've never been more happy/jealous over someone else's wedding! Solange being the queen of just about everything juggled planning her wedding as well as the creation of her second collaboration with Puma for another footwear collection entitled "Wild Wonder."
It was only an amount of time before Solange would grace us with another collection, especially after the major success with Girls of Blaze this past February.
The newest collection is a take on PUMA's iconic styles, the XT2 and the classic PUMA Suede. With the help of previous designers: Gerlan Marcel, Hisham Bharoocha, and sister duo Darlene and Lizzy Okpo, they pulled off a vibrant collection with an array of natural fabrics, colours, and prints.

New addition to the Christmas List? I think so.

can you feel my love buzz?

Living in the US and having some of my favourite magazines in the UK has to be one of the most frustrating things ever. When I lived in Lagos my dad brought back i-D magazines for me to drool over until his next flight to London, now... not so much.
I have been living vigorously through i-D's website (very stoked for the new features to come) for this past year and I recently stumbled upon an editorial, 'can you feel my love buzz?' they did starring Xiao Wen Ju (one of my favourite models). I have searched all over for the designer responsible  for these idiosyncratic ensembles, but failed miserably. If anyone does have an idea of who the designer may be, do let me know!

*cliché alert* Sweater Weather

I had to do it, it was too easy!

With fall settling in at my doorstep, I can't help but think about trips to Starbucks in cozy sweaters and boots; My pockets won't be filled with lent and rusty pennies *texts dad begging* for long, so you can expect a pile of new clothes waiting to be worn in an outfit post! For now you'll have to settle for these virtual oh-so comfy and oh-too expensive-for-my-wallet-right-now sweaters/cardigans (check out my polyvore for where to get them) and the items I paired with them.

p.s. God knows I need some New Balance shoes in my life.

ShopPablo

After many months of thinking about opening up a shop, I have finally done it! This past week I've opened up an etsy account 'ShopPablo' where I sell a bunch of great thrift/antique finds that I know many will appreciate and love; Thrift stores (specifically Goodwill) have recently upped their prices which is why some of items are more costly than I would like, but overall its still a good deal, especially if you live in an area with mediocre thrift stores. On that note, feel free to check it out and tell me what you think!

YAYA DENG for YEN MAGAZINE

I'm going to pretend like these past 2 months of not blogging never ever happened... ever. So on that note, I came across yet another editorial; This one having to do with the ebony beauty, Yaya Deng. It seems like every other ebony model with a low cut carries the last name Deng (Ajak, Ataui, and now Yaya). Yaya was featured in Yen Magazine by Renee Carey, and looked absolutely stunning while sporting colourful printed ensembles.

It seems like every other editorial I obsess over is right out the page of a Yen Magazine... I just might have to get my hands on an edition or two.

Summer Ensembles

Clutch - Daily look // Shorts - BOOHOO // Sandals - Warehouse // Sunglasses - Trend Boutique //
Top - Monki // Kimono - H&M

With just NINE days left till I'm home (Nigeria), I've been searching the racks of both the mall and thrift stores for some Summer essentials... so I put together three ensembles using three different pairs of the main Summer essential... SHORTS. With the scorching heat of Lagos showing no mercy, there is nothing to do but embrace it with shorts of different colours and cuts. Hope you love the looks and feel free to comment below with your go to Summer look/Polyvore.

p.s. despite Spring being long gone, I still plan on sporting some Spring colours

Township Resolution

There have been a lack of posts due to exams (our sincerest apologies), but Summer has embraced us with arms wide open, so we are here to stay.
Once again, I was scrolling through my Tumblr dashboard when I was graced with images from a photo shoot titled "Township Resolution". Not only did I love the layout of the photos but the idea behind it. "Township Resolution" is a collaboration between stylist and image maker Gracie Wales Bonner and photographer Dexter Lander, the idea of the shoot was to recreate a 'virtual township' around Ridley Road Market. Gracie was inspired by her trip to Ghana where she experienced the slow loading internet (which I am all too familiar with) and the distortions that appeared on her screen. She translated her inspiration into the background of the photos, which made for a very avant-garde shoot.

El Color Esta De Vuelta // NYKHOR PAUL

I've stumbled across many editorials targeting coloured models, and I'm loving every second of it! I came across Elle Mexico magazine's fashion editorial starring sensational model, Nykhor Paul and instantly fell in love. The fashion editorial was titled "El Color Esta De Vuelta" (The colour is back), so it's no surprise (to me) that a model with such rich skin was picked to sport both the cut and colour of the different ensembles. I ALMOST love this shoot as much as her "Nykhor in Bloom" shoot back in June.

Spring Break

With a 12 hour road trip to Maryland to see the family with a complimentary 4 hour road trip to Valdosta for college visits, I guess you could say our Spring Break was quite the ride. At first I was mad at the fact that I wouldn't be packed in a dome with a bunch of screaming Childish Gambino/Tyler the Creator fans, but eventually I gave up on the whole grumpy teenager act and enjoyed the break.

The other day the family and I took a trip to downtown Valdosta, it was the most serene downtown I've ever been to (not like the hustle and bustle of downtown Silver Spring), with plenty of great spaces to take photos. On this fine day, we decided to sport very lax outfits, for a seemingly lax day.
