Bad Religion

  Let me start off with the fact that I am no longer a heel virgin; Yes I know.. how can you be a fashion blogger and not own a pair of heels? The answer to that is I have two sisters with heels at my disposal, so I've never found the need to own a pair.. but with Homecoming coming up, its only right to dress the part. Okay, as light as I tried to keep my outfit it still was no match against the hot, hot, heat that was going on today; I had to take multiple trips to the bathroom to cool myself off with a moist toilette. Maybe I should just invest in a mini fan that sprays mist in in your face, you know.. like the ones they sell at the amusement park. The sun showed no mercy today at a high of 88 degrees and I witnessed multiple students who suffered from some heavy-duty sweating, yikes. That's the exact reason I decided to wear an outfit that was non-clingy, ain't nobody tryna sport a pair of sweaty pits. I have to say there is definitely a difference between heat in Maryland and heat in Nigeria, I'm sure some of you would think its smouldering hot over there, but its the opposite in fact. Heat in MD is on an overbearing, feel-it-in-your-soul type level. It gets really really humid, think of it like a hot blanket you can't unwrap yourself from. In Nigeria the heat is calmer, more bearable. It's hard to explain, but know that contrary to the stereotypes, its hotter in America.

Hey Arnold

I first have to say that my sister Zoe has done an amazing job keeping this blog running while I've been dealing with the monstrosity that is college life. I'm so proud of all that she has accomplished and at such a young age! I'm really going to push myself to blog more so you'll all be seeing a lot more of me.

The days are getting severely colder here in Maryland which means it's all about layers, layers, layers. 

Not only that, but I've started investing in hats too as my weave does little to protect my poor ears from the piercing wind. It also helps that a hat keeps my hair from flying around and making me look all types of crazy after.

So I'll just say it now...I have a big head. This makes buying hats without adjustable straps or an elastic band a struggle. I kinda feel like Arnold sometimes even though my head isn't the size of a football. I can't wear fedora's and even the bowler hat I bought last year isn't making me feel any better about the size of my cranium. The only hats I seem to be buying are beanies and snapbacks.  They add a certain urban-ess to my outfits that I simply love. Each of the hats below make my outfits stand out and unfortunately bring attention to my big head. But hey, as long as I look good I might as well embrace it.
